Annual Miscellaneous Infrastructure Project (FY25/26)

City Project No. PW-719-25

The City of Palos Verdes Estates awarded a construction contract to Mike Bubalo Construction Co., Inc. for the Annual Miscellaneous Infrastructure Project – FY25/26. Work is scheduled to begin June 8, 2026, and is anticipated to be completed by the end of July 2026.

A map showing the streets included in the project is posted on the City’s Capital Improvements Program webpage.

Scope of Work

The project includes improvements on Via Cataluna, Via Coronel, and Via Las Vegas.

• Via Cataluna — from Via Fernandez to 1325 Via Cataluna
  • Removal and replacement of the 36-inch storm drain pipe
  • Construction of a storm drain manhole and junction structure
• Via Coronel — between 903 and 907 Via Coronel
  • Removal and replacement of the 12-inch storm drain pipe
  • Reconstruction of the catch basin
  • Localized pavement and concrete repairs
• Via Las Vegas — between Palos Verdes Drive North and Via La Selva
  • Localized pavement and concrete repairs
  • Injection of polyurethane grout within the existing void

Street Closures & No Parking

Mike Bubalo Construction Co., Inc. will make every effort to keep driveways open, but temporary driveway access delays may occur. Emergency vehicles and other essential services will have access throughout the project.

“No Parking” signs will be posted on affected streets at least 48 hours before work begins. Residents are asked to:

• Remove vehicles from the street by the posted time on the “No Parking” signs.
• Review the posted dates carefully.
• Avoid parking vehicles on the roadway during construction.
• Avoid allowing water to run onto the roadway.
• Keep trash cans and other debris out of the roadway.

Trash Pick Up & Street Sweeping

Trash pickup will not be disrupted. The contractor will coordinate with Athens Services to allow for normal trash pickup operations or pickup before street closures.

Street sweeping will be suspended in affected areas during project work to allow the street to properly cure. Vehicles will not be cited on street sweeping days in areas affected by the project.

Schedule & Working Hours

The project is scheduled for June through July 2026. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
