At the December 9, 2025 City Council meeting, the City of Palos Verdes Estates conducted its annual Council Reorganization.

Following the reorganization:

• Michael Kemps was selected to serve as Mayor
• Derek Lazzaro was selected to serve as Mayor Pro Tem

The annual reorganization sets the leadership structure for the coming year and reflects the City Council’s commitment to continuity, collaboration, and effective governance on behalf of the community.

The City looks forward to the leadership of the 2026 Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem as Palos Verdes Estates continues its focus on public safety, fiscal stability, and long-term planning.
