Equine-Assisted Therapy Program for Children and Adults with Disabilities Comes to PV Stables Through Community Partnership
Palos Verdes Estates, CA — A new community partnership between Manes for Movement, PV Stables, and the City of Palos Verdes Estates is bringing equine-assisted therapies and activities to children and adults with a variety of abilities in the community.
The partnership will be recognized at a public event on May 12 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at PV Stables (4057 Vía Opata, Palos Verdes Estates, CA 90274), where guests will hear brief remarks, view a short demonstration, and have time for photos, tours, and media interviews.
Manes for Movement specializes in equine-assisted therapies and activities that support physical, emotional, and developmental well-being. Through guided interaction with horses, participants can build strength, coordination, communication skills, confidence, and connection in a safe and supportive setting.
“This partnership is a strong example of how the City’s concessions can enhance quality of life for residents while serving a broader community purpose,” said Mayor Michael Kemps. “PV Stables has long been a treasured part of Palos Verdes Estates, and we are grateful to Councilmember Victoria Lozzi for helping initiate this effort last year during her time as mayor.”
“This is exactly the kind of community we want Palos Verdes Estates to be - one that brings people together, supports children and families, and utilizes our unique assets in meaningful ways,” said Councilmember Victoria Lozzi. “We are excited to welcome Manes for Movement to PV Stables and help create a space where these important services can grow.”
“PV Stables is not only a beautiful and prestigious equestrian facility that serves the broader community, it is now also a place where children and adults with disabilities and a variety of needs can receive support, build confidence, and experience the powerful therapeutic connection between people and horses,” said Dr. Erin O’Mahony, PT, DPT, Executive Director and Doctor of Physical Therapy for Manes for Movement. “We are grateful for this partnership with the City of Palos Verdes Estates and PV Stables, and excited to expand access to these much needed services in such a special setting.”
“As we celebrate the 100th anniversary of PV Stables, this partnership is a meaningful way to honor our history while looking toward the future,” said Megan Padilla, PV Stables Concessionaire. “PV Stables has long been part of the fabric of Palos Verdes Estates, and we are proud to support a program that strengthens our community and opens the stables to an even broader purpose.”
The event is open to the public and will include opportunities for informal tours, media interviews, and photos.
