What is Community Choice Aggregation? How can I choose where the electricity I use comes from?

The City is hosting a booth at the PVE-CARES Senior Health Fair on October 13th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to provide information on Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) and collect feedback from residents. Please stop by the booth to review materials and speak with representatives on how you can choose where the electricity you use comes from.

CCA allows communities to choose alternative supplies for the electricity they use in their homes and businesses such as traditional sources or renewable sources of energy.  There will be no service disruption and residents will have the option of how they want the electricity they use to be sourced (wind, solar, etc.). Residents currently receive electricity services through Southern California Edison.

Specifically, the City has three options:

  1. Join Los Angeles Community Choice Energy (LACCE), which is overseen by the County
  2. Join South Bay Clean Power (SBCP), which is a local regional effort
  3. Take no action
