Police Study Presentation at 9/26 Meeting
The City Council convened at its September 26, 2017 meeting to hear a presentation on the Police Operations Study from Lewis-McCrary Partners. The City Council received and filed the report, and scheduled to continue their discussion on October 30th at 4:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, 340 Palos Verdes Drive West.

Having an independent, neutral expert evaluate the costs, operations, value, benefits, and efficiencies associated with having a locally controlled Police Department, jail and local dispatch was a strategy to address the FY 2017-18 budget shortfall. An Ad Hoc Committee was designated to evaluate a potential vendor to conduct a study of non-safety staff and operations. The selection of Lewis-McCrary Partners took place during the June 13, 2017 City Council meeting and a staff report can be found here.
