Establishment of PVE/PVHA Ad Hoc Committee
The City Council and the Palos Verdes Homes Association (PVHA) have established the PVE/PVHA Ad Hoc Committee to open a dialogue related to the process for building in Palos Verdes Estates that is consistent with community goals and provides for attractive homes. The City uses the Neighborhood Compatibility process for determining if a new or remodeled home is compatible with the neighborhood. The PVHA, working through the Art Jury, reviews the architectural design, hardscape, landscape, colors and materials. Combined, the City and PVHA are dedicated to protecting and preserving the unique character and the high standards for development.
The process can be complicated and efforts to address the various interests of property owners and neighbors can result in altered designs that may not always represent best practice. The PVE/PVHA Ad Hoc Committee will explore current practices and procedures with a goal of establishing a shared understanding of quality design and site planning objectives, a more streamlined schedule and a balanced approach to protecting the interests of all property owners.
The PVE/PVHA Ad Hoc Committee is comprised of representatives from the City Council, Planning Commission, PVHA Board of Directors, Art Jury and staff.
