REMINDER: March 7, 2017 General Municipal Election is only 4 Days Away!

The City of Palos Verdes Estates' General Municipal Election is on

Tuesday, March 7, 2017

The City has consolidated our election with Los Angeles County (also known as Consolidated Municipal and Special Election). The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (LACRRCC) is providing election-related services, including distribution of the Official Sample Ballot, and is conducting the Election.

It is a comprehensive guide of all the contests being voted by PVE voters for this election, including the full text of Measure D (special parcel tax to fund fire and paramedic services), analyses, arguments and rebuttals; and Candidates’ Statements for Members of the City Council (vote for 2) and the City Treasurer. 


  • Early VotingBusy on Tuesday?
    • Voters can visit El Camino College this weekend (March 4th and 5th ) cast ballots in person. Voters may also visit LACRRCC in Norwalk at 12400 Imperial Highway, 3rd floor, Room 3002 to vote.  Call 1-800-815-2666, option 3 to confirm business hours.

  • Vote By Mail
      LACRRCC has mailed ballots to all registered voters who are signed up to receive vote by mail permanently for all elections (formerly known as absentee voting). To view Vote By Mail instructions, click here.

      If you are unsure of your vote-by-mail ballot status, please visit the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's website at (or look at the back cover of your Sample Ballot above your address to check)  If you have requested your ballot to be mailed to you and you have not received it by Election Day, please consider going to your polling place on Tuesday to vote in person.
  • Vote By Mail Ballot Drop-Off
    • Visiting City Hall for other business?  Unsure if you can mail your ballot in time? Save a stamp….
    • An official Ballot Box is located in the lobby of City Hall, 340 Palos Verdes Drive West.  Voted ballots, sealed in the envelope provided with your ballot, can be dropped into the box any time during regular business hours through Monday, March 6 by 5pm.

CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS will be open from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on election night; we will be serving pizza and refreshments while we watch for the initial results and updates to be posted throughout the evening via LACRRCC website, which will be projected on the Chambers video monitors.  Note that we are following the canvass real time as you are; there should be no expectation that results will be transmitted to the City earlier than what is posted on the LACRRCC’s website.

This event is for community members who interested in watching the results as they come in together; no formal program is planned, and no official results or announcements will be provided.  Please join us or stop by, and let your friends and neighbors know.
