The City of Palos Verdes Estates' General Municipal Election is on

Tuesday, March 7, 2017

The City has consolidated our election with Los Angeles County (also known as Consolidated Municipal and Special Election). The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (LACCRR) is providing election-related services, including distribution of the Official Sample Ballot, and is conducting the Election.

LACCRR has mailed out the Official Sample Ballot to all registered voters in Palos Verdes Estates.  It is a comprehensive guide of all the contests being voted by PVE voters for this election, including the full text of Measure D (special parcel tax to fund fire and paramedic services), analyses, arguments and rebuttals; and Candidates’ Statements for Members of the City Council and the City Treasurer.

  • Early Voting
    • Voters can visit El Camino College the weekend before the election on March 4th and 5th to cast ballots in person. Voters may also visit LACCRR in Norwalk at 12400 Imperial Highway, 3rd floor, Room 3002.  Call 1-800-815-2666, option 3 to confirm business hours.

  • Vote By Mail
    • PERMANENT VOTE BY MAIL (PVBM)
      LACCRR has mailed ballots to all voters who are registered to vote by mail permanently, formerly known as absentee voting, in Palos Verdes Estates. The envelope contains instructions for voting that is similar to the sample ballot, but it does not include all the details as provided in the Official Sample Ballot described above.  To view Vote By Mail instructions, click here.

      If you are unsure of your vote-by-mail ballot status, please visit the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's website at https://www.lavote.net/av_inquiry.

      Going to be out of town for the election? 
      REQUEST TO VOTE BY MAIL FOR THIS ELECTION ONLY; requests must be received no later than Tuesday, February 28th to receive a ballot in time to vote.
  • Vote By Mail Ballot Drop-Off
    • Visiting City Hall for other business?  Unsure if you can mail your ballot in time? Save a stamp….
      An official Ballot Box is located in the lobby of City Hall, 340 Palos Verdes Drive West.  Voted ballots, sealed in the envelope provided with your ballot, can be dropped into the box any time during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm.  (City Hall will be closed on Monday, February 20th in observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday)
