Want More Information about the Upcoming Special Parcel Tax?

In the City of Palos Verdes Estates, a special parcel tax has been the method for paying the cost of Fire and Paramedic services.  In the other cities on the Peninsula, property taxes are used for the cost of Fire and Paramedic services.  To understand the reasons for the difference, and to learn about the ballot measure to be presented to voters in March 2017, information is available in the Fire and Paramedic Services Parcel Tax FAQ on the Palos Verdes Estates website.

Other topics in the FAQ include:

  • How the tax determined for each parcel

  • How City revenues are currently allocated in the existing budget
    If the tax is not approved by the voters, what options are available to the City and impacts to public safety?

The question of whether or not to continue the existing special parcel tax for fire and paramedic services will be before Palos Verdes Estates voters in March 2017 because the current tax expires in June 2017.
